I don't see much for antelope hunting stories on here. So I'll post a pic of my success on opening day.

I sat in my blind near a water hole and watched other hunters shooting at this buck. He left with his does but came in to the water hole by himself a while later.

I was in Alberta on vacation this summer, cruised for hours and hours looking for these guys, spotted a total of around 40 in two weeks...most near water holes....I dream of hunting them pronghorn.

Good job, nice pic!

I used my old model 70 win. in .264 win mag. Didn't need all that though as he was about 150 yards from my ground blind and I had a solid rest and he was standing for the shot.

He is a nice looking antelope but deseptive. He is short below the prongs and long above them which makes him look long. The tips of his horns do not curl back for extra length eather.

Horn length is 14 and some eighths and he rough scored (by the fish and wildlife guy stationed out at Jenner) at 74 and some eighths.

I think of the animals we get to hunt here the most unique are these antelope, you never see two the same, and that sure holds true with this one Duffy. Very different from most you see.
My other BIL and his friend tagged out at the end of the week but I'm not so sure they'd like pics posted. Both are in the 14" range as well.

Did you see any big ones at the registry station in Jenner?

Congrats!

That's a fine lookin' stubble racer, no matter how long the horns !

A pile of us Easterner's would love the chance of putting one just
the same size on the wall !

Well done !

Nice 'lope, Duffy.

Glad you had a successful hunt.

As for the other shooters, let me guess: gravel flying as tires lock up, guy bales out of truck, doesn't bother to get off the road allowance, no range finder, shoots off the hood of the still running truck, at a still running antelope, at 300+ yards?

No, no you got it wrong Pudel, they don't get out of the truck cuz they need to raise or lower the window for a steady rest.;)

We didn't bump into many hunters out there but most were pretty nice, only two jerks. Met some from north of grande Prairie, now that is devotion to drive all the way down there!
