I recently connected with a gentleman who has a Substack channel where he does video histories of firearms. He had recently done a video of a beautiful engraved Colt 1911, and I thought he might be interested in my gun. I sent him a PM about my Python with some history and back story, and then some pics, and he really liked it. He did an amazing job putting it together. Link attached

Wow, lovely looking revolver!

That’s amazing!

Have you ever fired it? I thought a revolver like that would go for far more than $31k usd. I was expecting a far higher price tag. I’d never sell that if it were mine.

It's neat that what started as a special request was followed through on for an extremely limited run. I wonder how, back in the day, each gun was acquired. Whether rumours got out and the richest man in each province contacted Colt, or rumours amongst the dealers started and they began to reach out to people who they thought might be interested. In the video it talked about Ontario and Nova Scotia being in private hands, but did not mention where the others ended up? I just hope they are still at least in Canada and whoever owns them has made specific instructions to their heirs if they pass on for the pistol to go to a museum or similar since they can't currently be passed down

A couple are in Germany, the NWT and PEI Pythons if I remember correctly. Sask and BC are in the USA I believe, NS NB QC and Alberta are in Canada, Yukon ON, NFLD MB I have no idea.

I remember seeing one just like it on the EE a few years back. Can’t remember who and what price but it was a pretty penny. Unless you’re exporting it to the US to be sold I would shoot it. When it get confiscated down the road you’d wish you had. Kinda like marrying a virgin supermodel and not consummating the union.
