Alberta Spring Bear

Hello everyone!

I'm planning my first Alberta spring bear outing up North, somewhere in 512 or 515. Do you folks think it's too early still? Also, what are your thoughts on the effects on the Fort Mac fires up there, for bear that is?

Just so you know black bears have been seen on the Suncor site for over a week now.

I hear their also moving from Waterton to Elkwater area, we already have cougars in Med Hat and a young Moose was seen here a week ago.

I think things will start to green up early this year, end of April perhaps?
Check out the highway cameras, the snows evaporating off pretty fast up there.

Was out on the 1st scouting things out and figured at least 2 weeks till some green up. Like AlbertaJohn says, I have been hearing about sightings on the P/L right of ways up there but it's pretty inconsistent when there's no grass yet to keep them in the open.

the bears are out on above the 60s ... Yukon COs confirmed the presence of one black bear around Haines Junction ...
