Match #5 was cancelled due to rain. As such, the match Joe T. (Corp.Punishment) planned will now be conducted as Match #6. (and it appears we'll have good weather for the match - http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/CAAB0235)

It will be held at the Mountain View Marksman Association (MVMA) range (west of Olds) on Sunday September 23rd.

It will be 9 stages and 124 rounds.

Registration will be from 0830 to 0930, shooters meeting at 0930, and first round at 1000.

Bring a lunch.

For more info (including a PDF of the Match Copy), send me a PM with your e-mail address.

um you didnt say what date or where. I guess that's what the 'send PM' is about, huh.

What qualifications are required to enter?

Oooops! My bad. Original post edited with date and location.

What qualifications are required to enter?

No 'qualifications' required. You'll need a servicable handgun 9mm or larger, a 'carry' type holster, 3 x mags or 4 x speedloaders/mooclips with pouches, concealment garment, and eye & ear protection.

No need to be a member for your first match but if you want to shoot subsequent matches you'll need to join. ;)

Well, ATHL Match #6 is now history. 15 shooters braved the chilly weather to shoot 9 challenging stages (including 12 year old Daniel T. - ATHL's first junior competitor). Six also stayed after the match to shoot the Classifier.

There were gremlins in the scoring program so the final results aren't available just yet (I have to re-do them manually) but I'll post them and some photos as soon as I'm able......

Thanks to the match director Joe Tucker for a great match.

Needless to say, I had a riot on Sunday. I think the only time the ear to ear grin on my face was gone was near the end of the day, when I was finally cold to the bone (yep, that weather did penetrate my natural insulation,) and my shooting hand was raw from the slide chafing skin off in the web of my thumb and forefinger (that'll learn me to shoot that much ammo without putting a beavertail grip safety on my Delta.) Hopefully I can amke it down for Provincials next month, and barring that, I know what I'm doing with my vacation time next year!

Thanks to all who braved the cold and managed to make the match.

Steve, Dan is looking forward to your two juniors joining up. Dan's sister will probably be gearing up soon too. :D

Match #6 was the last match of ATHL's 'regular season' for 2007. Next up: the 2007 Alberta IDPA Provincial Championships - the first ever IDPA sanctioned major match to be held in Canada! :canadaFlag:

Glad you had a good time Pete! Hope to see you again in October.

That's the plan. Even if I have to trade shifts or call in (cough, cough) sick. Unless of course we can swing something so I can shoot Saturday.

Mass, if you or any of the other shutterbugs managed more photos of me, I'd like copies. They're going onto my Facebook :D
