I stumbled upon an Aldis Unit Sight yesterday in Toronto. It's in excellent condition and came with its original box. It measures 32 x 2 inches. The optics are clear so I think the seals and balsam cement are still intact. On the barrel is it stamped:

BRIT. PAT. Nº 130706.
ALDIS BROTHERS
BIRMINGHAM.
Nº139888.
EYE END.
The number 214 has been stamped on the rim at the eye end, but the type is a lot cruder than that used on the barrel.
I've read a fair bit about this sight on the web, but if you've got more detailed information I'd like to hear from you.
