Has anyone seen or heard of a speed loader for the alfa-proj revolvers? I've had quite a few people say they look like a smith, so i'm wondering if a S&W 626 speedloader would work for it. Any ideas?

Since all gun threads are useless without pics

no, a moon clip or half moon clip would not work. the cylinder would never close. A speedloader works on the moonclip principle, however it releases the ammunition. it essentiall hold the ammo in a patern that will line up with the chambers in the cylinder so that you can dump the empty brass and fill the void with fresh ammo.

"Just took my 3530 out this weekend, first time to shoot. I had already found that it takes HK speed loaders just like the Ruger GP-100. Compared to my Rugers (GP-100 and SP-101) the Alfa was both more accurate and easier to shoot in .357. I had feared I would need a grip filler, but it turned out not to be an issue for comfort or accuracy. I was also concerned about the trigger locking up if you fail to let it return all the forward after a shot; that turned out to be a non-issue for range work. I'm still concerned about the trigger in a rapid fire self defense scenario. The gun is definitely a keeper, and I was very impressed with its accuracy. "

Found this review claiming that HK loaders work. I cannot confirm it from personal experience.....yet.

Edit: just glancing around Wolverine's site, they show the same loader for the GP100 and the 686, so if this guy isn't full of it ^^^, the S&W loaders should work. Maybe.

Have you got a set of calipers? If so measure from the outside to outside and then inside to inside of the two opposite chamber mouths. I'll do the same with one of my K frame guns and if they match then you need the K frame speed loaders that I suspect are the case.

And if not at least the numbers will be posted for someone with an L frame to check for you.

To set the stage my 9mm AP has a chamber mouth diameter that matches my K frame S&W's. And I seriously doubt that they'll make a whole other frame and cylinder.

No, the 629 loaders won't work for TWO reasons. First is that the 629 is the larger N frame gun. Second is that the 629 is chambered in .44Mag.

The 686 and GP100 ARE the same size. But now we're looking at the L frame size.

Next down the ladder for S&W is the K frame.

Each frame size uses a different chamber mouth circle diameter. Hence why I'm asking if you can measure outside to outside and inside to inside so we can calculate the mouth circle diameter for the AP.

Looks like another Smith copy. The HKS 626 et al speed loader should work. There's a list of HKS speed loaders by revolver on their site. Add the W's. .hksspeedloaders.com/SpeedloaderPage.html
Ditto for their .22 8 shot revolver speed loader(try the 22-HR model). Those won't be easy to find though. Not much demand for 'em in Canada.
