Alfa proj revolvers ?

There's another thread on the first 'page' of this subforum that has some good commentary and pictures of AP revolvers.
Check it out. They look good, people were talking them up. However, the compliments were usually conjoined with a 'for the price' modifier so be aware of that.

Agreed. If you're thinking you're getting a Smith & Wesson, you aren't. There's a reason why premium revolvers have a premium price.

But as a mid-range gun, I've been blown away by the quality and the fit and finish of my stainless .357 alfa. It runs circles around Ruger, Charter Arms and other revolvers of similar price.

Good to hear.
Do us a favour and post a comprehensive unboxing and range report thread when you get it. Lots of pictures and feedback is always appreciated by those of us who haven't bought something yet :)

My 2251 wasn't too bad for the price. It certainly felt good in my hand. My only issue was I would get a bit of powder blowback once in a while which I believe is a timing issue.

Wanstalls has the 9251 classic alfa proj revolver listed on their website for $419! It must be a pricing error on Wanstalls part. Cause the normal price for the 9251C is $559. It says that its still in stock on the website.

I know cause I was looking for the 9mm alfa revolver a few weeks back and saw it there. I immediately ordered it and received it last week. Its definetely the blued steel 9251 classic for the price of the Alloy 8251 .38 special.

Rusty Wood has the 9mm Steel version in 4.5" and 6" barrel lengths at $559.00
I have a 2251C Steel 22LR and am happy with it so far. Not the fit, finish, and smooth action of a S&W for sure, but a good gun for the price.

GF has the .22 LR revolver. Nice little gun. Nice trigger pull, works well. My complaint is that it's a bit small for my gorilla hands. If you get a chance to handle one at a store, go for it before you order. Then you'll see if it fits you well, regardless of the model you choose.

I got the shorter cylinder 9251C version because the barrel length that extends from the frame effectively makes it a 4 inch length by "hiding" the extra .2 inch inside the frame.

I haven't used it a whole lot. Probably 500 rounds over the last year or so. But it's worked flawlessly. And with the proposed change to the IDPA rules it looks like I'll be able to use it in the Revolver category. If it passes the proposal is to blend stock and enhanced revolver into one category. So moonclips from enhanced will be useable with the lower power factor 9mm. THEN it'll see more use at matches.

If you get one be sure to buy one of Rusty's replacement mainsprings. It makes the gun feel like a nicely tuned S&W trigger. Otherwise you'll find that the DA trigger pull is rather brutally hard.
