Not sure, but have you looked at the Barnes ammunition line for a 140 gr load?
As for plinking, I practice with whatever ammunition I use for hunting, whether it is a factory load or a hand load. That way when I am hunting, the scope is always sighted in for that load, and I do not have to compensate for different points of aim or velocity variations.
If cost is the issue, you may want to hand load, if plinking/practicing lots.
As an example, in my first 6.5x55, I would shoot 500-700 rounds a year through that rifle, just practicing. Hand loading made it more economical. Plus it gave me more experience with that rifle and its poa on targets out to 400 yards. Gave me more confidence when in the field hunting and harvesting game with that rifle.
Do that with all my rifles, although they do not all see that many rounds a year.
As with anything, it is the quality of practice that is more important than the quantity of practice. Focus on your shooting form on each shot. And have fun!
