I spent some time at the range today with some of the loads I'm testing for my attempt to get Maynard to pay for my day at the range. 22.5 gr of H335 under an 80 gr Nosler BTHP match is looking real promising with one 3 shot group under 0.25" at 100 yds and the other two just over. Finally something to work with!! So I'm letting my barrel cool and I figure it's time to zero the 1X4 scope I have for my H&R .444 Marlin. I get the thing zeroed with this fairly evil load topped with a 300 gr Hdy HP. I figure I'll try a 5 round group and see how good the load shoots. I'm not looking for anything special as the little pig has a nasty kick and I don't want to beat myself up trying to make it do something it can't do. The first two shots I flinched a little so I told myself to get it together it's not as bad as your .30 mags so settle down. The next 3 pretty much the same hole. It measures about 0.480" edge to edge. I can't decide if I should feel lucky or pissed!

Sorry about the pic quality it's my first time doing this. Time to dust off Corel Draw.

As was stated in another thread, you don't need custom to get out and try F-class.

My 12 LRPV Left Port with crappy glass and bipod.

A few 3 shot groups at 100 yds. I don't think I'm done with the load yet, but maybe this is as good as it gets. COL is base to ogive. I'm going to try 80 gr SMK and 80 gr A-Max with same charge next as the Noslers were a gift and appear to be difficult to find this side of the 49th.
