Well, filled my Bison permit on the weekend.
Actually a fairly easy hunt, except I'm having troubles walking after moving the meat around a few times:(
Hanging up now, to the butcher's on the weekend.
Oh, and I'll beat "Rockchucker" to the punch, Yes I AM FUGLY!!!!:D

CZ 550 in 416 Rigby.
Originally bought the rifle a few yrs ago when I had this idea I was going to get a Bison permit. Eventually took me 8 yrs of applying. Since then Rockchucker and Casull have owned it, now its mine again (EVIL LAUGHING)!!!!
4 bison were coming through the trees and this bull was about 12" or so taller than the first three. The shot was about 50-60 yards broadside at a slow trot. 400 gr Woodleigh hit him high in the ribs and he actually did a 2 step shuffle and then took off. He went about 40 yards and fell. I circled around and put another one through the brisket as he was down. I absolutely could not believe how much he bled out through his nose when he was down.
No bullets recovered but it took out 1 rib on the offside, about a 1.5" exit hole. Seemed to work out well.
Now, whewre do I find BBQ sauce by the 5 gallon pail?

Bison

Hey, good pics! Gives a lift during the long off season. After the pictures the easy work began...

Did you skid him to the road with your ATV? Just kidding. Nice job and congrats.

Wow, those out of the ordinary hunts are awsome. So it took 8 years of applying to get the tag?

How much do you think that beast weighs?

Are they plentiful up there, or difficult to find?

I'd love to hear any other details about the hunt you'd like to share... and congratulations. Do they make a rotisserie big enough for that?

Bison

Anybody notice something missing in the pictures of Pickles and his Bison?
By the way the Bison is the hairy one LOL !!

Hint:{Bison have how many feet?}
Its what happens when you drop your Bison in the trees!

Surprised no one has noticed.:D
Yes, that is only 50% of the bison. We had to cut him in half to drag him out of the trees. The other half is about 20 feet behind and left:D
I've been told the big ones weigh somewhere in the 2200lb range but after moving it a few times I'm inclined to agree, today is the first day since the hunt that I haven't woke up with leg cramps:p
