Hi everyone!

Okay, I have a major PROBLEM!!

Well, let me first say that i finished putting that damed scope mount inreplace of the stripper clip guide...boy that took a while and some slight sanding.

Now, i can't get the rifle to cycle. This was a problem because i couldn't even get the trigger group off.

Managed to get it off with out any damage and took apart the rifle again.

It seems the BOTTOM screw for the Op rod guide block, is Way to long and it screwing all the way up into the op rod. so there by braking anymovement of the oprod....um.....

Is it just me or should that drilling not have gone all the way through?

Okay im really worried.

Thanks inadvance for any help or comments you may have!

Hi there...

If you pull out all three of the screws that hold the op rod block in the SAGE chassis, you'll notice that one of them is longer than the other two. Also, take a look at the op rod block and you'll notice that the barrel/op rod holes are not concentric with the center of the block. The long screw is intended for the side of the op rod block where there is more meat. Use a shorter screw on the bottom of the block and you should be ok.

Take care and good luck,

Brobee

Hey!

Hey Thanks Brobee.

All the screws are out, they are all basically i have two that are the same size and one that is smaller. I have to look for the manual that came with it, but I know One screw isn't an original, I had to buy one.

But its weird, I never had this problem before:(

Thanks!

never mind...brobee was right...

The guy who sold me the stock a while back gave me the wrong screws..it wasn't even the right type of threading...

Well found a shorter one, i got a couple from dafasco or was it brafasco...i can't remember it was a bit of a drive from toronto...

Im glad i bought a few:)

Thanks!

BTW, what are you guys doing in order to keep the retaining pin for the recoil spring guide from moving sideways? (thus releasing the spring and guide and jamming the weapon!) I was thinking of drilling and tapping a hole and screwing an hex screw on the side of the chassis... but a simpler solution would be welcome!

What I do is make a small aluminum bar to fit and then affix it to the connector cutout slot with a small machine screw amd some loctite:

I had some magnetic strips that had self adhesive tape on the back side.

I simple stuck two together and them stuck them on the inside of the stock.

Works great.

Well thanks Brobee and Oh Evil dark overseer SKULLERATOR!

lol

Hey By the way, anyone know of a cheap commerical made .308 ammo that is good for dare i say it...plinking?

Should I go with the surplus 360 dollar crate? (I think it's that much)

Thanks again.

K,

If you see Hirtenberger-Buy it! Good Ammo.

AS for the screw problem...You can always make screws shorter. It's hard to make em longer. As a matter of fact sometimes no matter how many times you cut them they're still too short!
