I like to try different powders, and did up a few loads in the new Alliant 410 in a 45 cal wildcat I have that has a bit more capacity than the 45/70 and 450 Marlin, but should work well in them.

With a 350 gr Hornady RN, I got 1850 fps with 44.0 grs of Alliant 410. What is remarkable about it is that it is fairly clean burning, but more than that, the peak pressure it produces seems to be quite low. I don't have pressure testing equipment, nor is there any published data for rifle for that powder, but I can say that because the necks expanded so little that I can seat a bullet without the need to re-size. The powder seems to be a bit faster than H4198, but my H4198 load that gives the same 1850 fps with the same bullet expands the neck a good 0.005" more.
