Hello,

Newbie to the world of firearms and being an RPAL owner. I'm eager to learn and i'm going to have loads of questions. I'm going to check out more of the FAQ before I start firing away with the question, but I'll take more introductory advice if you've got it.

Well, as I haven't actually fired a gun in years and currently don't own any. As for what I'm interested in, like you said, all of it, but I'm definitely interested in military surprlus rifles, bolt actions, revolvers and pistols.

As a newb, I don't have any disdain for .22's. I'm an accuracy shooter, I like iron sights. Definitely plinking, never done anything long range.

Also looking forward to doing some restorations. I'm really looking to go elbow deep in this hobby, maybe even start loading my own brass....

Gotta start somewhere though. The only two places I've heard to shoot in BC are the outdoor club in Richmond which I've heard is mostly about skeet shooting, and the indoor facility in coquitlam, which doesn't allow centre fire rifles according to their website.

I'm in Maple Ridge. There's DVC indoor in poco, Langley gun club, Abby, Mission, PoCo gun club up Coast Merdian, and the one above Golden Eagle golf course in Pitt Meadows. I'm sure there's others.

Yes, very fortunate. My favorite spot is about an hour drive. I have two gongs set up, one at 700 yards and the other at 1000. But that place is a secret.
