The only problem with "high velocity" pellets as they are akin to dry firing your gun and will eventually destroy the seals and or mainspring. A .22 /.177 pellet at 700-900fps will kill anything 25lbs and under with correct bullet placement.All hype for sales to speed demons..............Harold

They are generally inaccurate too. Can't kill chit if ya can't hit chit.
Ah, but they zing past what you are shooting at so much faster!
Crap. Neat if you want to hear an air rifle with the crack of a sonic boom, but completly useless otherwise. When dealing with the higher power airguns, I'll take mass and accuracy over speed anyday.
I get through and thoughs on rabbits with my Cabelas Outfitter pellet gun shooting regular lead pellets at ~850fps
