Hey guys

Almost done my ar build, the gunsmith is putting on the barrel as i dont have a vice, bench ect
My question is, the lower i have is only registered as a lower receiver right now. When i complete my upper do i have to call the cfo and let them know the barrel length and all because its a complete firearm now? Or do i just leave it registered as a lower only?

It's up to you, some people don't bother because you have 30 days from when it becomes a functioning firearm to notify your CFO. So if you were asked why your rifle was registered as a lower receiver you could say that it was a new build and you were getting around to calling the CFO. I would call the CFO and get the registration changed even if it is a stupid requirement especially if you have more than one upper in different barrel lengths and calibers.
