Almost finished my first AR build, what do you think?

After months of scrounging parts I'm nearing the end of my first build. I wanted to do something a little bit different than the typical high speed, pimped out uber-AR's that most people seem to do these days so I built a retro-ish 9mm.

-Colt Sp1 upper and lower
-RRA 9mm bolt, port door kit, hammer and buffer
-TROS 9mm 9.25" trilug barrel
-Armalite clamp on FSB reamed out for larger diameter of barrel
-Cut down rifle handguards

I'm still not done, but I'm getting there. I still need to find someone who can weld plastic to join the two ends of the handguards together (you can see in the pic where I still have to file down the rear portion). That reflection above the selector is where some idiot inscribed F and S with an electric pencil, so I'm thinking of redoing the receiver in OD duracoat so it's not as noticeable. I have a genuine Colt CAR stock and buffer tube that I still haven't gotten around to putting on. I still need to get my hands on a magwell conversion block to make the rifle functional, but at least the end is finally near.

Every single part of this gun, except the RRA 9mm parts, was bought right here in the equipment exchange.

Pics work now. I think that is one hot ar. I never liked the look of the 9mm mag hanging out of the big magwell, but your rifle is so compact it seems to fit perfectly.
I like the a1-like upper. I even swapped my flat-top for one because I like it's simpler sights and fixed handle.

That's a 20 rd mag in the pic so it looks much more compact. The pic is a little blurry so when I get a chance I'm going to try and take some better ones, maybe after I switch the stocks around.

say since that's 9mm can you fire it in a indoor range for pistols?

Leg, Robert....Fantastic job on both. Really like the camo Rob. Am rebuilding an FAL will show some pics soon. Have a sweet receiver mount for it that I got for 20 bucks.

After the FAL I will be doing an AR and I'll need all of the help you guys can give.

Leg, that is the nicest shorty I've seen in a while!!!! and 9mm must be a hoot. That's next on my build list How are they to shoot? cycles ok? It must be a nice handling/light carb AND that wouldn't be sparrows old sp1? I've have had the pleasure of stroking that
