After careful consideration I put my money where my mouth was and purchases a Alpha Proj 9mm revolver
The gun came in great condition from BC to my gun store and obtained the gun within 2 weeks of ordering it
It came with 2 rods and 2 moon clips and a shell moon clip remover
I orderd the 4.5 inch stainless barrel smooth cyl resessed barrel, that was an option can also be orderd in classic.
The grip is quite comfortable not the prettiest.

The barrel stick out from the frame is 3.35 inches

making is a beautiful little gun to holster
I tried holsters at the store and anf 686 frame will fit. And fit well
The moon clips are very easy to load and unload however they are a bit pricy. I orderd an additional 10 ag about $9 per moon clip

The cylinder is very nice to be honest and loading the clips I would say is on par with any smith

I had a chance to shoot the gun and I am very impressed I the accuracy I shot 124 leaf a TMC with titegroup and they stacked upon eachother.

The single stage trigger on mine is very light the double action is quite heavy but not terrible. There is adjustment in the trigger however a target action shooting trigger kit can be had for about $30 from what I Understand.
The bottom line for the price of this gun it's hard to beat. The Czechs make good guns all though not a lot of info in English I really like it and it's not junk. It's a a great gun for the cost.

I just bought the same thing in .22 and am very happy with it. It holds nine rounds and the first eighteen rds. all went in the black at twenty yards. I installed rusty woods lighter spring to lesson trigger pull and its pretty nice with some creep for sure but not enough for me to spend more money to clean it up. It looks like a clone of a 617 smith but with a shorter barrel and a lower price.

Unless there is something I'm missing this revolver is a prohib no? Very nice, I'd like to add one to my collection, but all I have is an RPAL. How is the trigger?

Why would this be a prohib? It is above the required barrel length for restricted. As long as it's longer than 4.2inch it is a restricted pistol unless I'm wrong.

The 4.5" barrel length just appears to be shorter because of the short cylinder. (More of the barrel sticks into the space the cylinder normally would occupy)

I learned something new today about revolvers. From the photo showing your measurement of the barrel I thought that's where the CFO measures bbl length from. Please excuse my ignorance. Now I like this revolver even more.

My only turn off is, and again I'm assuming here, is that it requires the moon clips to function. I'd prefer a revolver that does require moon clips. One less thing to purchase, one less thing to loose.

I've run mine without moon clips. It fires fine, but the fired casings don't easily fall out of the cylinder so you may have to poke them out with a small rod.

JasonYuke, what's in the $30 "target action shooting trigger kit"? Rusty woods has a trigger spring kit for $10 that really drops the DA trigger pull and drops the SA trigger pull as well.

As said you can use it without the moon clips but it can't eject them because there is no rim on a 9mm. Thus you need to poke 'em out with a stick or whathaveyou.

They also make them in 22lr 22WMR 38spl and 357mag so you have other options available if you would rather a rimmed cartridge that operates in a more traditional fashion.

Question to the OP and others: Why the 9mm and not the 357 or 38spl?

Looks nice in the stainless

The price of the clips are a complete turn off for me, though. I might buy a 986 down the road when the polymer clips come out for it. Could be a fun gun to swat steel with.

Its very nice, and likely to be my next revolver purchase. I would prefer it in 45 ACP. Please, could someone make an affordable 45ACP in DA available!

I agree ,a nice .45ACP SA/DA revolver would be a hoot ,but in the price range of the Alfa !!

I bought the blued .9mm 9251C ,full cylinder ,4.5 bbl and love that little gun.I got it when Rusty Wood had his Christmas sale for $ 499 ,so I just couldn`t pass it up.

I`m looking for a .22 WMR in the future ,so I`ll have to consider the SS version.

Nice purchase BTW !

Do they make one in 45acp ?

No sir, just .22 (long and mag) 9mm ,.357 and .38 special in blued and the same in SS but no .38 special ,although the .357 mag has this covered.

Oh ,just to add something. To my knowledge ,Ruger makes a Blackhawk convertible in .45ACP/.45LC in 5.5 blued ,but it`s near the $900 price......but a very nice revolver none the less.

Not sure who else makes one ,but who knows ,perhaps Alfa may one day.Alfa is relatively new to the revolver game and they seem to be doing quite well so far.
