Hi,

I have never owned one of these before and apparently neither has almost anyone else as the available maintenance info was almost nil. I was provided a basic "manual" that contained, at best, an exploded-view parts chart, but little else. Online was pretty much the same story as it seems there are not many of these particular pistols out there.. The vendor I bought this from suggested a place called: Blueline Solutions that was supposed to have some experience with these Alphas.. http://blsolutions.ca/ What they told me was that they, in fact, had limited exposure to these and the guys at CGN might have a few helpful suggestions before I pursue the paid-repair route.

Using my S&W 686 as a breakdown comparison proved to be a bad plan as awaiting me under the rather harmless-looking side cover, were a few nasty surprises in the way of loose parts attempting to leave the area. According to the chart, I BELIEVE I have all of them. There were several "gotchas" in what looked like an easy re-assembly, but I was able to carefully position all the parts and gently replace the cover - just as gently checking the action as I eased the corner screws into position.

The action quickly began to stiffen, then become almost completely locked before I ceased my efforts and backed off the cover again. :(
... and this is pretty much where I am now.. I am uploading these images in the hopes that someone may be of some assistance. Thanks in advance!!

Your cylinder stop and spring looks different than mine. Maybe check the position of the spring? Also, there is a trick to putting the plate back in. You have to trap the #48 pin and #47 spring retracted using a small pin pushed through the side plate. There's a couple of pics below of that.

Thanks for this although by the look of your trigger assembly, you have something a little different.. That trapped spring trick was something I had to do to get the main spring pin assembly back in position.. I will try it with the cover although it's as if the hammer pin doesn't quite line up with the little bore in the cover..

Yes, mine is a 9mm 9261 and it does look like the locking lug mechanism is different than yours. The trapped spring I mentioned is not for the main spring though. It's for the spring and pin that pushes against the #43 "Hand" that indexes the cylinder as you pull back the trigger. If you don't trap it back in position as you put on the side plate, the pin is probably getting caught between the Hand and the Side Plate which will definitely bind your trigger action.
