Hello there

I recently picked Up a alpine supreme grade 300 win mag. But it is missing the bolt. From what I have read they where built on confiscated Mauser 98 actions, I am wondering if I need the correct Mauser bolt That modle of assembly? Or what kind of bolt I should be looking for? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Some were built on military actions, but the majority were built on Spanish Santa Barbara commercial (FN Mauser copy) actions. Which action you have will determine what bolt you need although other bolts may be able to be fitted.

Does your action have a thumb cut on the left wall of the receiver? If not, it is a commercial action.
 
Ok I think I figuring this out, going to give this a try. Some one let me know if it works(if you can see the pictures)

I think the Santa Barbra uses a standard 98 bolt. May have to have bolt handle altered and head space checked after opening the bolt face and extractor to fit a magnum cartridge.
 
Did you try one of your 98 bolts in the Alpine? I would try with the bolt shroud and cocking piece removed. If there is no scope to interfere with the bolt handle the bolt should fit.
