I'm about 1.5hrs North of Base Borden, and would prefer not to drive home/back for the 2 days events. I would also prefer not to stay in a hotel in Barrie.

Read in another thread for West Coast service pistol that camping could be arranged at their range. Wondering if there are any similar alternatives to hotels for Borden shooters?

I could have sworn I read somewhere that people were staying over somwhere in barracks, but search came up with nothing so I must have dreamt that one up.

If you are in the Res. I believe arrangements can be made for Blackdown. If you are a Civy there are hotels in Angus, Angus Inn and the Borden Inn. If camping is an option Earl Rowe Provincial Park just outside Alliston might work for you.

Earl Rowe looks like a nice spot, camping is exactly what I had in mind, should add to the 'service conditions' aspect. :) The park will be open for the May 28th and June 25th SR events, but not the April 30th clinic.

Thanks for the suggestion maynard.

Who is running it? There's no mention of a 30 April event on either the DCRA or ORA sites. Just curious. Best for you to contact whoever is running the clinic. Wouldn't count on on base accomodations of any kind.
Borden will be cold and wet at the end of April. Possibly snow still on the ground, just like at home.

I have been to a ORA website, but it does not look as nice as that one, thanks for the updated link. Just saved me a stamp and a walk to the mailbox by using their electronic application and EMT.

Will check out the Nicholston Dam.

If you want to treat yourself, there is a nice hotel just outside Alliston. Nottawasage Inn

Otherwise, Angus has motel/hotel and Barrie has some.

Just realized, while camping might add to the experience, tilting some beer with you guys would probably be more enjoyable.

New website was launched 28 March.
