I have a bunch of berdan primed brass. Both steel and actual brass in various calibers. Is there an alternative to just throwing the stuff away? I am aware of berdan de-priming kits but finding primers, let alone berdan primers is hard. Are there scrap dealers or anyone else that can benefit from it? I don't want to give it to the landfill.....

Nearly any metal can be sold for scrap. Whether it's worth it or not is another matter. Gun club cans make a good chunk of money just bringing in spent .22lr.

I took some worn out 300 win mag cases and put in a piece of mechanics wire with a loop on the end. Filled the cases to the shoulder with lead and stuffed in a bullet. Voila....heavy weight key chain fobs. I gave them out to friends and a few of my customers. You'd have to drill out the base if you wanted to do it with berdan primed brass. Best done from the inside of the case rather than trying to level off that little dimple in the pocket.

"...berdan de-priming kits..." Not worth the effort or expense. Even if you could find the right berdan primer.
"...around .70 per pound..." Hence, it takes a great deal of brass to make taking it to a scrap dealer worthwhile. Most don't want mild steel either.
Make drawer pulls out of the brass cases and pitch the rest into the brass bin at your club.
