Alberta Tactical - I always try to make purchases from a Canadian retailer, as I am sure many "nutz" members do ... My search for a stock is a good example of the fact many retailers are known only in their particular geographical area. Alberta Tactical--I will check your site.
Maybe we need a "Guide to..." forum.
I have purchased Redding Dies from a US Dealer, but only did so after I was not able to find what I wanted in stock among the retailers I know... and when they offered to import...the price quote was nearly twice what I got them for (including shipping) from the US.
My "shot" was directed at 604, not you. Sorry if you took it that way.
I just see that sort of reply all to often, and makes me wonder why I try to bring stuff in for people who seem to always want to shop in a foreign market.
To me that makes as much sense as peeing in your well and then wondering why the water is not fit to drink. Everyone in Canada is crying about how few gunshops there are left that are not big box retailers whose clerks know nada.
We are Redding distributors as well.
There are some of the BIG US dealers who get far better pricing than we do, mostly due to volume, which we lack up here. Also as many US manufacturers ship for free in the continental US, we don't get that benefit here unfortunately. I think for the most part the Canadian dealers try to be as competitive as possible on pricing. Our dollars constant state of flux does not help the dealers at all. I know I still have stock on some items from last year when the looney was worth about .80 on the US buck, which hurts now that our buck is worth a buck.
I fully expect when the new US president, it matters not which 1 wins as both major candidates are NOT gun friendly or overly Canuckistan friendly for that matter, takes over from Bush, we will see far less being shipped north without permits. Already there are things in the works to help strangle us out even further than we are now.
