I have been trying to get an answer to the question, which one? I have measured the diameter of the eyepiece end and it is pretty close to 40mm. Leupold shows it in their spec sheet as 1.80"...that converts to 45.7mm. Nowhere can I find an Alumina rear cover matching that size...??? Which is correct?

How do these things attach? Its a newer VX-6 so I doubt its takes the older screw in types?

I have written to Leupold requesting help determining which size cap to order, but no reply as of this evening, maybe sometime next week...but geez...why make it so hard to order one of these. They ain't cheap and I for sure don't want to end up with a collection of them just trying to get the one that fits!

Anyone using one on a similar scope?

Jim

Are you looking for the Alumina flip-back or cap? Either way, it should just be the "Standard EP" for the VX-6 (EP = eye piece). The ones that are measured in mm are for the objective end. I've had better luck calling Leupold to get specific model #s than email (although they have always eventually responded, just takes a while).

I have a VX6 1x6x24 on order, here's what I got from leupold 114756 and 117611 . Not sure which is for eye piece. How do you like the scope, rreticle? I didn't realize the lens was so big .. 40 mm seems like a lot for a compact scope. They will answer your email in about 3 or 4 days.

Interesting - looks like they have new flip-caps for the VX-6 (these are not on their website yet). Looking at retailer websites, appears as though the #117611 model number referenced by Brianma65 is the eye piece and 114756 is the objective end. Enjoy, these are great products!

Jim do you have the scope already, I'm hoping they are the screw on type, does the inside of your vx6 1x6x24 ,lens ,have threads?

Yes I have the scope, just mounted it finally...this evening. Have to bore sight it yet. All this to say that my opinion to date is pretty superficial, never having hunted with it. Overall impression is that it is a quality piece of glass, lovely clear lens, I like the heavy duplex, the illumination is adjustable but I need to read up on all the functions of that 'one button does all' feature.

The only 'con' I have at this point is the magnification ring is bloody stiff to rotate, and there is no threaded opening to put a 'lever' to assist with the rotation. I'm assuming it will ease up with use (??) but a little concerned that in the reality of hunting in November, ( read below zero always...), it might be even stiffer. If it was any more difficult it would be unusable. Thus I might consider returning it to Leupold for confirmation and possible adjustment AFTER the hunting season.

Oh, and the objective end is threaded, the eyepiece end is not...
