Has anyone used aluminum cased ammo in their JR? The manual counter indicates the use of steel and aluminum cased ammo, stating that it can split or crack in a direct blowback firearm. However, I've been told at my LGS that it's been done without any problems. I'm not sure if that's true or if they're just trying to sell the only thing they have in stock.

I've had it rupture / tear in my .40S&W. Lucky to remove it without damaging the chamber...lucked into a reamer at work that fit just right. I had two mags with cci aluminum cased ammo mixed in it (unknowingly). Based on my experience I would not be using aluminum cased ammo .. at least not in the .40S&W.

the jr manual says brass jacketed ammo only, dont know if this was to correct early feeding issues or not but it states that any other ammo voids the warranty, dont know how they would would know if using somthing else, unless my jr talks to my mini and my mini spills the beans to the jrc lawyers, damn evil mini. lol

I wonder if the .40 is more likely to rupture? I'm using the 9mm, perhaps I could get away with it. I don't know if it's worth trying though.

For a rupture to occur the rifle must either fire out of battery or eject the round before pressures have dropped. I used blazer al several times before I read the manual. I seen no signs of bulging or split cases. I think the manual also says using reloaded ammo voids the warranty as well. Lawyers write lots of things to cover their collective asses.

I have shot hundreds of rounds of aluminum out of my JR Carbine never an issue, but i do have the lackluster and under powered 9mm

I'm sure if given the opportunity to do so, plenty of dead people would disagree with you on your statement that the 9mm is "lackluster and under powered".

I shot a box of blaser in .45 ACP aluminum case on the weekend. I had 1 missfeed. No bad signs on any of the cases. I have not had any problems with the Blaser in .45 brass. Aluminum shoots to the left by 2" from where the brass shoots. Grouping is the same and elevation is also the same. Aluminum is also $7 a box cheaper to buy.

I don't like the fact that it was bouncing off a poplar tree with zero penetration but what do I know
