Gentlemen at the club this morning had a brand new Mossberg Patriot 300 Win Bolt Action Rifle, Walnut , SKU #28132.

He took it out of the box fired it 3 times, looked up and over at my grand daughter and me and said, "ya wanna buy it, I hate it", I got his number and said I'd call later tonight.
It's a crazy good price.

Does anyone have any experience with them ?

I've had a couple, never kept any. They do what they're supposed to, decently accurate when scoped right. Good for the occasional hunter who fires 2-3 rounds a year.

My father has a synthetic .30-06 he has had for years but barely shoots it outside of hunting season which he doesn’t get out much these days.

Personally never been a fan of the rifle. Definitely an entry level rifle in the synthetic version. The action on my father's was insanely rough even after some polish work. It did shoot hunting accurate.

I personally would only hold onto my fathers for the sake of memories but likely would never use it. An if it was given to me by someone else I’d sell it haha.

Had one in 308, loved everything about it except for the 2nd/3rd shot. It was never in the same place lol.
As others have said, it's great for the non-serious hunter.

I mean, they're cheap junk, but they're probably fine? I bought a synthetic stock in .300WM before I knew any better. Lol it hasn't left the safe in years. Really light, kinda rude to shoot. Maybe better in a lighter recoiling cartridge.

I have the mossburg patrol which is similar to the patriot and it shoots really good actually
The plastic stock is cheap and the bolt has more slop then i like when it's extended but it locks up good and shoots good groups so I can't complain

Never owned one but nearly bought a walnut stocked one new when a deal came up for $399. Good looking rifle until i did the research, that turned me off of them.

Depending on the price I'd try it out. I had a Mossberg ATR and other than the blind mag the rifle wasn't bad for the price I paid for it. Only reason I sold it was to fund a lefty hunting rifle.
