Hi all,

I have a few nice pistolas and have always been a metal and wood kind of guy. Actually I used to find plastic frames guns unattractive, especially Glocks. Now since a few weeks, I have begun to look at glocks differently and am beginning to find them kind of ###y. What is happening to me? Am I going to end up buying a Glock? Me! A plastic gun!!!!:confused::confused:

Besides looks you have to consider how it shoots for you, I just came from the range, we tried a few different pistols in different calibers. I was able to shoot most of them pretty good, but my friend that was with me could only shoot the Glocks. In 9mm .40 and .45 he shot the best with the Glocks, he also tired a .38 spl revolver, .45 SIG, and 40. desert eagle, I think it was the Sig that he couldn't even put a hole in the paper at 7 yards lol So I think hes gonna be a Glock guy for sure, regardless of what he thinks looks nicer

I resisted Glocks as long as I could, loved my metal pistols. Found myself with a big bag of 40 S&W brass I picked up from the range, and a good deal on a RTF2 G22. First time out I was impressed how well I shot with it and I am a converted Glock fan now.

Glocks.... my perspective....

First encounter with Glocks cira late 1994. Initial impressions, thought Glocks were ugly & boring. No romance.

Glock 22. Took Glock armourer's course back in the day. Took Glock transitional pistol instructor's course back in the day. Shot about 5K factory rounds thru that G22 the first week. Developed a new appreciation for the Glock. Went on to, as a part of an instructional team, transition a number of persons from the S&W Model 10 .38 Spl wheelgun to the Glock Model 22 .40 S&W pistol as a duty sidearm. Requalified a number of people on that pistol as a duty sidearm in many years following.

Over the years have personally shot thousands of rounds thru Glocks. Mostly 9mm and .40 S&W. Personally, have never had a fail to feed, fire, extract or eject. Glocks work. Glock would be my go to in a SHTF scenario.

Yeah, I love my "steel" pistols, especially the 1911's. That won't change.

But in all of it, Glocks hold a special place for me.

My .02..... your mileage may vary.

Thanks all for your replies.
I know that opinions vary a lot on Glocks.
I guess I just felt like sharing that from a «I hate their looks» guy, I am beginning to be a « they might be interesting» guy.
Never shot one though.

Cheers

I figured out, the best thing to do is to get into Glock, 1911 and other makes, at the end, you will find out your favorite one... Just saying... JP.

I am one of those "hate the looks" guys. I shot a Glock 19 today (first time ever shooting any Glock) and actually liked it.....I was also consistantly hitting 6 and 8" steel plates at 15-20-25 yards. which made me like it even more.

I still hate the looks but.............
