Hey gang,

As you probably guessed, im a lefty and have just ordered my first AR clone (thanks CANAM) The DA556.

Any other lefties dealt with Canadian tactical part websites and what ambidextrous upgrades would you call must haves for us southpaws?

Thanks for the input in advance.

I'm not a lefty, but I heartily recommend a Ranier Arms Raptor ambi charging handle, I have one myself and it is great.

Next up, I have a Knights Armament Company ambi mag release. It is great for me, I generally use it with my left thumb when removing a mag.

I also have a Knights Armament Company Ambidextrous Safety Selector, it does come in handy with several options for selector sizes and profiles.

Oneshottactical sells them, they're good people and I recommend them.

Ambi charging handle if you're just shooting bench. If you get into more dynamic shooting maybe add an ambl mag release like a Norgon. The other controls like bolt catch/release are easily reachable (if you have long fingers) with the trigger finger. Not necessary but nice is an ambi safety like the B.A.D.-A.S.S.

Speaking as a dedicated lefty, IMO you only need 1. an ambi safety and 2. an ambi charging handle when you're running a standard gun. You can train yourself to work fine without the rest and even without the ambi safety or charging handle (Oh yes, those beautiful C7A1's). The aftermarket ambi mag releases like Norgon I'm not a fan of; I don't like aftermarket mag releases sticking out the receiver without a proper contour to prevent accidental release.

I recommend the BCM handle... cheap @ Brownells.
