Hello all

I am fairly new to the site. I am looking for some info on the American classic 1911. The reviews i can find are pretty useless and few and far between. Ellwood Epps seems to have a bunch of these and at 329 it would be great for my first .22 and 1911. To my understanding they are made by Chiappa and are no longer being manufactured by metro arms. Can anyone help me out here? good? bad? at 329 the risk is small but still dont want to purchase a pos

I have no experience with Chiappa but for about $60 more you can get a GSG 1911-22. There's a lot of reviews on the GSG and mostly good. I have the Sig version and its great for its designed purpose.
Parts and mags are fairly easy to get.
There's probably a very good reason why there aren't many reviews on the Chiappa and why Epps has a bunch of them (unsold).

Any reviews I read were pretty bad....from 12# trigger pulls to never functioning with any kind of ammo.

Just go with the GSG. Nothing but good reviews.
Mine has treated me right and shoots better than I do.

I was eyeing one yesterday at Lanz for $369. So there you go. Only $40 more and you get a pretty decent pistol

My 0.02cents
