American Eagle .45 ACP or another suggestion?

I have Glocks 9mm and a .45, and I just purchased a Kriss Vector in .45 also. So I want to buy bulk 1000rd cases of .45 because I can see me having to feed the Vector lots of .45

Up until recently I bought 2 1000rd cases of Fiocchi .45 ACP from CanadaAmmo and I loved that stuff! They are now out of stock, so I wanted to try American Eagle since that is what I shoot mostly out of my 9mm Glocks with good results. I could not find any American Eagle 1000rd cases in stock anywhere so I went with some Blazer brass. And after the first mag of that stuff I had black particles all over my forearms, I have never had that happen with the Fiocchi, so I find it is way dirtier!

So my question is does anyone know where I can get 1000rd cases of American Eagle .45 in stock? Or can someone suggest another ammo to try that is available in 1000rd cases? Or even just give your experience with .45 ammo you have tried. Also would prefer brass cases. I see Sellier & Bellot does anyone have experience with that?

I prefer factory loads, I tried wolf TMJ reloads in 9mm and did not like it compared to factory AE, so Im not sure if I want to try the same thing in .45 only to be possibly disappointed again....

I have a Kriss, FTE and FTF issues aside, I do enjoy it, however it is a dirty S.O.B of a gun....... no matter what ammo I use....... she's always covered in powder residue

Now that's odd...I've been using Blazer brass .45ACP for ages and never found it dirty as you describe. Might be something new...I bought my cases of the stuff a couple of years ago (on sale) and am still running through it.

So..... you're saying you've black spots using the glock which you've had a while or while using the new Kriss ?

I got black spots all over my forearms shooting Blazer brass in my Glock 21, which before trying Blazer only had 2000 rounds of Fiocchi put through it. So what I am saying is the Blazer was noticeably dirtier after only one magazine, compared to 2000 rounds of Fiocchi. I never got that black particles all over my arms with the Fiocchi, even if I shot 300 rounds of it in one range session

I did not receive my Kriss yet, I drove out to the store on Tuesday to see the gun in person and pay for it, now I am waiting for the transfer to go through then they will ship it to me, so I should get it early next week. When I bought it they tossed in a free box of American Eagle .45, so as soon as the Vector arrives Im going to the range and can compare the Blazer to the AE...

I have not tired the AE in .45 but I have used about 6000 rounds of their 9mm in 124gr and 147gr and do not find it dirty like the Blazer was in .45

It was good ammo dont get me wrong, but the price between Blazer and AE is so close that if the AE is cleaner Id prefer to get that or something else

I did alot of reading and it seems that its 50/50 with the FTE/FTF issues, so I got my fingers crossed that I get a good one...LOL either way I really like the gun, its style and bolt design are interesting to me. And it works great for me at this moment because my range is under renovations, and currently we can only shoot pistol calibers. So its a .45 which is my favorite pistol caliber Ive tried so far, and although its a rifle it uses Glock 21 mags which I already have and a 10rd capacity. It just looks like so much fun to shoot I cant wait to try it out! Just got these bad boys ready for it the other day

And I just got good news, called the store to check pricing on AE .45, its not the cheapest but not having to pay for shipping makes it even out compared to ordering online. So I'll probably drive there over the weekend to grab some more AE, if I buy 10 boxs or more I get 10% off so its pretty decent price.

The good news is that my transfer came today and Canpar already picked up my Vector, got a tracking # and I should have it Monday!

We have a ton of Federal American Eagle 45ACP ammo in stock @ $540.00 per 1000 round case.

I have the non restricted Kriss, If you have a FTF FTE issue message me, I was able to fix mine. Making an adjustment on the spring inside the mag, cures the problem.

Sounds good, but your site doesn't have online ordering for ammo does it? I cant seem to find a button to click to add it to cart.... How do I go about placing an order? I'll send you an Email for a shipping quote either way

Thanks!

Thanks will do, does this mod make any difference in how the mags run in a regular Glock 21 after? I was planning to share mags, right now I have 5 all OEM 10 round Glock mags. 3 are used 2 are new

I can't say, I dont have Glocks, basically you need to bend the spring inside the mag to remove pressure from the front of the follower. on the kriss, as the bullet travels up the feed ramp the bullet turns vertical and then obviously won't enter the chamber. removing pressure from front, put all the pressure on rear of follower keeps the bullet straight and allows it to go up the ramp and into chamber.

see this link.... this is where I got the idea to bend the spring, I found this procedure helped but I still had issues, so i went a bit further. If you have a problem I can send you pics of what my mags look like, they function perfectly

So I was able to go to the range and test out my Vector with 3 kinds of ammo. I also ran some Blazer and American Eagle through my Glock 21 while I was there. All 3 brands of a .45 ACP ran fine (Blazer Brass, American Eagle, Fiocchi), but as I said in my first post the Blazer Brass is really dirty and I dont think I will be buying it anymore. If its getting my arms this dirty I can only assume its getting my firearms dirty also, and for about the same price I can get American Eagle which doesnt do this in any of my firearms. I ordered another 1000 from SFRC, because my .45 ACP diet just went up big time with this Vector.

I only had about 4-5 malfunctions out of 600 rounds, and I believe 2-3 of them were my fault as I was putting my hand over the bolt catch/release. When I had proper hand placement and didnt touch any of the controls during a cycle it ran fine and is a blast to double tap and rapid fire mag dumps.

Heres my arm at 50 rounds of Blazer brass

And here is after the 2nd box so 100 rounds

I have never had that happen ever, before trying Blazer

I hit up Kate at AmmoSupply (site sponsor:) ) awesome gal, great Mom and Pop shop with great prices. I tried 3 different kinds of .45acp....Wolf wad cutters...not so great in my gun, Norinco...real dirty, consistency was not the best and did I mention very dirty? but shot ok. but I also bought some factory reloads made by a company out of Sylvan Lake Ab (not far from me) and these things were great! As clean as new rounds should be, shot flawlessly without any troubles at all. Very accurate. (Hit an orange skeet stuck in the sand backdrop at 180 yards on my second try with my new SAM Thunderbolt...with many witnesses:) .....I came close but couldn't repeat it in 16 rounds the next day:(

See Kate...you won't regret it.
