I can buy .45ACP ammunition at a local store for $21 a box.

Nothing wrong with it, I shoot AE 9mm all the time, no problems.

I like it but I only use .25, .32, 9x19 and .22 LR 40gr solids.

For that price, stock up. I never had any issues with AE ammo.
