I purchased a pound of American Select powder for my 44-40 cartridges and it works well. I'm now trying to reload my 9mm with 700-X and it's not metering well. I see that American Select has a recipe for 124gr GDHP bullets. I'm using Berry's Bullets - 124gr HBRN Copper plated bullets. Since both bullets are 124gr, would I be able to use the same recipe? I would think that the velocity may differ a bit, but the pressure should be the same for each, shouldn't it?

With same weight, but different projectiles, I just start lower and work my way up. Nothing I shoot does great at max loads, it's all performing best at warm, or warmer, but I get less desirable results with hot, so I don't get up to max anyway.

A am trying to work up a load in 9. I may have a warm batch, because it's about the velocity max is supposed to be at min, and way too hot a few tenths above that. A few bullets got pulled that night. I don't think my LOA was appreciably shorter than the recipe. I don't think it meters bad, but flakes tend to pop out once in a while.
