I was able to get two of these as a kid from my dad who used to be in the military. For the longest time I only used them to store CD's (perfect width for them)

Technically correct, but I've always erred on the side of caution in this regard. For 5 mins effort and .50cents in parts, I'm willing to go above and beyond. I've also stored other valuables this way.

For anyone curious... I bought two of those M2A1 cans containing 500 rounds AE 9mm locally. I was able to fit all 20 50 round boxes into a single M2A1 can....just an FYI on the volume.

If someone's breaking into my house to do harm to my family and steal my belongings the last thing I want in my way while trying to protect them is another lock. Locking our guns is bad enough.
