Ammo choice for an M1 Garand

Hello,
I recently purchased a rebuilt M1 from a fellow CGN'r. I do reload but only pistol at the moment. I would like to know if there is any 30 06 factory ammunition that I should stay away from when using this rifle? I will only use it at the range for plinking. Eventually, I would like to start reloading rifle but not now.

Ammo like the 150g ball from American Eagle fed and worked quite fine in mine. FGMM in the 168g was better but, of course, more expensive. Handloading 155g SMK's was the best. Avoid hunting bullets and heavier than 168g and you should be fine.

American Eagle actually makes a product of m1 ball 30cal just for the Garand.

I think that you want to get something that does 2750fps with a 150g bullet with a medium-slow or medium-fast rate.
