I am looking to hear your location and price of a basic box of ammo (brand and type and grains)

Prince George
federal 130s are $33 (wtf happened?)
federal 150s(i think) vital shock $58
I was told it was an increase country wide....

can this be accurate?

Are you talking about .270 win ? Yeah, that's a rifpoff. It wasnt' long ago that I had bought some federal 130 at around 15$ at the local Wally world.

Ive seen premium ammo for 300 win mag @ $80 this year, last year same stuff $65. A 25-30% increase mainly due to exchange rate
 
I heard there is ammo price influx...yes...but what i seen today was ludicrous....but this is first time i looked at ammo here in prince george bc......
 
Ive heard places like Canadian Tire & Walmart sell the low end ammo like Super X power point & Federal power shock at cost, just to bring people into the store. Smaller gun shops just cannot sell stuff at cost or the doors would be closed and there would be no more gun shop. :)
 
Went to Wholesale and Russel today in Calgary. Looking for a box of Federal Blue Box 150gr in 7-08. Prices went up to $29.99 from $24 or $25 when I last bought a box in Dec.
 
Alright fellas, the dollar today is running about the same US exchange rate as it was in 2005-2006. Now my question is- how the hell did stores stay in business back then!? My god, if these are the prices they need to charge to keep the lights on, how did they manage to put food on the table three years ago? What a racket.
 
no doubt there has been some increases in cost of items, you buy for more, you sell for more. Gun shops arent getting rich selling ammo and primers..........:)
 
I know here in NB the Canadian Tire's put the ammo up about $5 a box for most caliber's. Super-x 300wsm was $34 plus now its $38 or $39 plus and the 22-250 super x went from about $15 or so to $18 or $19....unreal!!!!!
 
Here the Wallymart and Crappy tire sell Winchester power points and silver tips. At crappy tire 308 and 30-06 in silvertips cost $24.99, and at wallyworld the 308's are 23.96 , and 30-06 are $26.94. Neither of them had much of(or none at all) a supply of 308's.
