Ammo prices?

I am moving to Alberta in a couple of months and hope to bring my guns with me and join a club. I have started to read about the PAL, ATT, and import/export issues.

Here in the US, I buy 100 round boxes of Winchester target ammo at $13/box and $27/box for 9mm and 45 ACP respectively.

What is the going rate for FMJ target ammo in 9mm and 45 ACP?

I'd recommend buying in bulks, 500 or 1000s.

I agree, buy in bulk... or get together with a few guys and buy 10,000 rounds + for a better deal =)

Don't wait too long to buy ammo as we are already starting to see increases in ammo prices especially in common handgun and military type rifle ammo. A for instance is our current price on 1000 rnds American Eagle .223 55 FMJ is $325.00. Certainly this wasn't the cheapest price in Canada but it has been going fast. An eastern wholesaler advised that our new wholesale price ie $340.00 per thousand. Now this wholesaler hasn't been the best price before but now claims they have limited supplies and can't even get much more at that price. Phil.

I'll be relocating to the Calgary area. Sadly, I realize some of my compact handguns must stay here in the states because of barrel length

I pay $11 for a box of 50 rounds, 9mm

When I had my .45 it was about $24 per box of 50.

(keep in mind the exchange rate, obviously)

Travis make sure you come down to the Calgary Gun Show if you can...it's on the Easter weekend and is open on Good Friday and saturday...come in and say high as were located in Edmonton but will be down for this show as it is one of the bigger western Canadian shows.
