anyone else notice .22 ammo prices skyrocket in the last week?
If you know where to get $20 boxes in the Calgary area pls let me know!!
$20 boxes at Canadian Tire are now $27!!!:eek::eek:

Yep, I saw the same huge price increases in our area when I went to Wallymart yesterday.

Just take a look at some of the online prices in the US. They are almost the same but in US dollars!!!!!

I know there is a WSS in Cowtown, they are still showing up on their website at 19.99. I doubt there would be any in stock though. It is interesting that CT or Wallyworld would sell the same ammo at different prices in different towns/provinces, as I thought there was a law against that.

Pro-Line shooters in Calgary still has Federal Bulk Pack 525 for $21.

I've known Brian down at Pro Line Shooters for a heck of a lot of years and he is passionate about the sport and tries his level best to keep his prices down so it does not surprise me that the boys down at the shop have tried to keep the prices reasonable.

hmmm .22 ammo has been up in this neck of the woods since April. Stuff that was $17 to $18 a brick is now $27- $28.

CCI Blaser 40gr (500rnd) Lead $18 a brick last year to $26.9 this year
American Eagle 38gr (400rnd)Copper HP, $17.5 last year to $29 this year
Fed Bulk 36gr (525 rnd) Copper HP, $16.95 last year to $23 this year
Lapula Super Club (500 rnd) $49.95 last year to $62.50 this year

I could go on......

Good thing I stocked up in the fall/winter.......

Cheers!

I keep wanting to adding to my stock pile (it's at just over 4000 rounds now) when I find "cheap" stuff, but I'm afraid if I do I'll just encourage the gougers to raise the price even more.:(

I bought a brick of Winchester Dynapoint GT's and Federal 525's for right around $20 each last week at my local CT. The Remington bricks were around $27, though.

The Dynapoints at my CT went up but Federal stayed the same, The only problem is that they have no federals left. The said that ther are 29 bricks in CT airdre. Going have to make the 20 min journey there I guess....

I just got back from the CdnTire on MacLeod Tr. in Calgary. They had Fed 525 22LR (36g HP) value packs for 21.99. Looked like they had quite a few of them.

Found Winchester XPert HV 1280 FPS 36 grain 500 packs at the McMurray Canadian Tire for $19.97. I picked up 3000 rounds but the clerk said they had a pallet load in the back as of this morning.

The local CT has some stock in again finally. Federal 525 is 21.99 and the Winchester dynapoint GT's are 19.99 bought one of each today. Walmart's shelves are still bare for going on at least a month, and it seems like CT now has better pricing anyway. I'm hoping the GT's will prove accurate, as they actually say "target" on the top flap for some reason. If so, they will replace the Fed 525's as my main bulk round as long as the pricing holds. Even at the new increased price, 333's are still a tad cheaper (when available that is), but they wont feed properly in my Savage MKII, but work great in the 10/22. Glad CT and WM are side by side...:)
