Ammo Purchase In Washington State Nov 6-07

Soooooooooo who has the 'real skinny' on what is allowed and what is not...I have read on CGN ( seemingly in stone tablets) that as a non resident (alien) we are NOT ALLOWED any possesion / acquire of ANY ammunition.

Im down today at a fairly reputable long standing gun shop and clearly Identify myself as a ' Canadian' he informs me I can buy no more than 4 boxes of ammo and they can NOT be hollow point....I queried him as to 'ATF-Border Patrol-Customs-Homeland Security' as being on the same page to which he replies yes.

you can buy and posses as much ammo as you want if you have a US hunting licence for any state.

without the licence it's illegal to buy / posses.

but either way you can't bring any of it across the border. you have to fire it all down there.

Locked, this has been beat to death.

Whether or not a Canadian is in a position to legally possess ammo in the US, it can not be exported from the US without an export permit.

Yes, I know CBSA says you can bring in 5k, but that's not the point.
