Monolithic bullets penetrate strait and deep.. 308 win paired with a tuff bullet will do the trick.
Past 300Y , I'd be picking my shots more wisely..
into threw the ribs quartering away,,
Threw the boiler room and out the shoulder is my fav❤.
Tight groups on paper= bang flop

Within a quite general range the projectile makes no difference. The animal will not notice at all.
What will make all the difference is your ability to place the bullet in the correct spot.
Basic cup-core soft points will do the trick and are a lot less expensive so you can buy more to practice with. If you plan to shoot an animal at 300 yds you should be practicing and competent out to 500 yds. You will also need the means to estimate distance reasonably accurately.

if you are close to factory advertised velocity it should be good well past 300m. Monolithic bullets are known for penetration but most recommend an impact velocity in the 1800 to 2000 fps. to ensure proper expansion.

The question is, if you are a new hunter can YOU shoot accurately out to 300 yds?

I think there are better monolithic bullets than the E-tip when it comes to low velocity performance.
If you place the shot well and keep impact velocity high, you'll be fine. To the latter point, out of a 308win the 150gr will perform better than the 168gr all other things being equal.
If I wanted to shoot an all copper bullet and needed factory ammo, I'd look to the Barnes 130gr TTSX first, but that's just me!
