Looking to pick up some 22lr for pest control and was looking for recommendations ? I dont want copper coated, bare lead is preferred. The rifle is a CZ 452 varmint. It would be nice if it was fairly consistent and not too dirty.

Thanks

I have the same rifle, it likes CCI Blazer 22. Fast/cheap...but a little waxy. It's my preferred gopher ammo too.

It is a HV option, so if your pests are inside of 50 yards and/or small, maybe a standard velocity option might be better. I like CCI LR HP, a slower-moving hollow point.

It's my understanding that 22lr is copper or brass "washed" ammo is not plated. In addition, match grade barrels need premium bare lead ammo to perform best.
"Cheaper" bare lead ammo is not ideal for modern barrels with low round count due to the quality of the guts (affecting accuracy) However, after thousands or rounds and multiple cleanings the striations become less an issue. Long story short.....it's ok to use copper wash ammo in your new rifle and don't waste your $$ on match ammo in a standard production barrel.

Again, this is my opinion and its worth exactly what you paid for it.......
