Ok guys I am putting together a AR to play with and have decided on trying a IBI 19" .223 Wylde barrel. My question is about reloading mainly. I was going to try using PRVI brass and 77gr MK or TMK bullets . My question is what dies would you recommend using? Also is crimping needed on the AR ? Is a small base die needed? Also any reason not to use PRVI brass?

Also from what I have read there is no reason I cant shoot some cheaper 5.56 through the Wylde chamber when I just want to do some plinking?

Thanks

I use Lee dies, so no small base die needed. My Hornady FL size die doesn't size far enough down to chamber in my AR's. Yes, you should.crimp for semi autos. The Lee factory crimp die works well.

If the IBI chamber is in the middle of the dimensional specsyou should not need a small base die and any 223/556 die will do.

Personally I would go with a small base die in case the barrel has a tight chamber. I don't get worried about over sizing my AR brass since I tend to lose it before it cracks.

I would crimp the bulk load-type bullets where there is a cannelure. Smooth sided accuracy bullets shouldn't be crimped if you are picky about these things. You will introduce a defect to the bullet cladding.
