I am looking for something to store ammo in, boxes of 20 or 50. To keep my different ammo tests separate, but I cant seem to find anything well made other than stuff taht looks like super cheap plastic.

Does anyone know of any good ammo boxes to use for this purpose?

Thanks a lot.

x2 on the MTM boxes! I use them almost exclusively.

As far as for testing, I use the following routine. Some like it/some dont.

I first plan a Load/loads that I want to test. I wright each load on a sticky label .75@x3" long file folder labels.
I assign a legend/mark or symbol for each load that i plan to test. Then put it beside the load information.

Ex: /, or X, or O etc.
I then take the primed cases for each load, and put the corresponding symbol/mark on the primer with a fine felt marker.

After each load is completed, even if you accidently dump the whole works on the ground, you know which rounds are which.

When you are finished shooting, you can deprime/size the cases and start fresh again. No marks on the case, nothing. This works for me, hopefully someone can benifit from this suggestion.

I put my differnt loads in ziplocks or I write on masking tape and stick it to each shell. It works. Had an ammo box dump open one time and all my loads got jummbled up so it's ziplocks or tape for me.

I had a box of 50, 5ea of 10 load increments, fall to the floor in the reloading room once not that long ago. I've started a long lasting affair with a sharpie now.....

Plano cases are better quality then MTM in my opinion. Thicker plastic, nicer hinges/latch, and they stack more securely. They are a little harder to find and are often a buck or so more expensive.

I use the MTM 50 boxes (I have 40-50 of them) I use the little stickers that come with the box and stick them on the inside of the lid with the load information written on it.

I also have a couple of those MTM 100 boxes, but have dumped out more carefully loaded ammo on the ground than I care to remember:bangHead:
