Ammo storage

Sorry guys might be a weekly question, what are the specs on storing ammo in Alberta.

Can i leave it in my Garage or does it need to be inside the house locked up.

Hmmm? I don't let my ammo freeze and thaw unnecessarily. The RCMP have several pamphlets posted on the CFC website that will answer your questions - without relying on the interweb for legal advice.

The principle I've always adhered to is to separate firearms and ammunition, whether the nuance of the law allows it or not. As well, I put the ammo under lock and key, like the firearms. This way no unwanted houseguest will be able to put one and one together and get me into trouble.

I don't think ammo storage "law" is applied differently per province - they are under the Criminal Code of Canada, so federal.

If I were you, I wouldn't leave it in the garage and I would lock it up in a lockable cabinet too - but that's just me.
