Everyone seems to talk about .223 vs 5.56 and uppers and lowers and triggers and sights . With the number of magazines ive been reading there seems to be a major trend leading to the popularity of the 6.8SPC.

How many here use or have an AR in 6.8 SPC . and how do you find 6.8 competes to .223 .

Im debating on getting a rifle in either and its tough to make a decision just based on what the magazines say ..

For what I do with an AR, which is primarily service conditions type shooting, the .223 will do everything I need. I cannot see any advantage to me if I were to use the 6.8.
But whatever floats your boat.

box of 223 9.99 box of 6,8 25.99

im not sure but i think il stick with the .223. cheaper punches paper just fine, and kills critters just as dead at less than half the cost.

6.8 only interests me in rifles that I can hunt with.
75gr+ 5.56 takes care of the longer range stuff.

+1 ^

Unfortunately those magazines you have read about are written for an audience that can hunt legally hunt with an AR, sadly us Canucks punching papers and ding'ing steel plates in the confine of a range, a .223 is more than enough.

for the price of the 6.8 I'd rather buy more 5.56/223 and shoot more and if I wanted something with more punch, 308.
