Greetings all; wasn't quite sure where to post this, so here goes...

Opinions about Walmart ammunition purchases are like buttcheeks - most people have at least two. However, that having been said, a new Walmart opened in Toronto by Bathurst & Centre Street, and I'm hoping that because it's so young (only two weeks since opening), it's also impressionable! They don't carry ammunition right now, but I noticed they do have cases sufficient for the display & storage of ammunition in the golfing aisle, where they store the airsofts and the painball items.

So, I ask you fellow CGN folk: please join me in asking this new Walmart to carry ammunition! I told them that there are only a few places to pick up ammunition in this neck of the woods (believe me, if you've seen the CT stores inside North York you'd know what I mean - maybe because this is Kwinter territory?). I also told them that if they brought the supply - I asked for .22 rimfire rounds and 12 gauge shells for starters - I know several people who would bring the demand.

I know we all read and gripe about lousy treatment of law-abiding firearms owners in Toronto, but we can do something about it here if we just try. Please join me in contacting Irving/the store manage at 905-709-4494. Tell him that the Walmart at Jane and Highway 7 DOES in fact stock ammunition (so there is no Walmart Canada or Toronto policy against it), and that the display cases in the golf aisle for the Airsoft items would be a great place for ammunition to also be displayed.

Look, even if you do hate Walmart, I'm asking this as a personal favour, seeing as how the other ammunition vendors are...not here in great numbers. I'm all for supporting local shops (and I consistently put a huge grin on my local gunsmith's face when I make my ammunition purchases there), but sometimes variety is nice (I'm talking variety of ammunition choices, not just variety of places to shop at).

I thank you guys in advance. By the way, for those who might care, I picked up the 525-pack of Federal Champion HP's for $16.97 at the Jane & Highway 7 Walmart tonight; all they had aside from that was 20 guage, .303 and .410 - please help make some difference here.

wal-mart is not one store, but , in fact, a whole bunch of different stores under one roof - the person to contact as well is the SPORTING GOODS MANAGER as it's him/her that controls the inventory and decides what to bring in- even here in calgary it varies from store to store- the ones at the north end of the city always seem to have stock and fresher ammo in different calibers than the one in the south - i know of one that's had a 20 round pack of 308 on the shelf since it was a woolco- but it's also run by a woman that's an avid anti-gunner
