Here I have a 1943 Husqvarna M38b. All matching. Immaculate bore. Notice anything off?

I overpaid at 350, but I couldn't let it go. It is really a nice rifle. It will make an excellent moose rifle for the cutovers.

Someone removed the threaded end for the blank firing device.........42gr of IMR 4350 or N204 and a 156-160gr bullet does wonders for relaxing moose.You will have an in and out hole......Harold

That's a shame. I picked up two M38 recently. A 1941 Husqvarna and a 1910 Carl Gustav. Both tack drivers. And $200 each.

Yet the Range Plate is intact...... Bubba usually goes at that with gusto with a large screwdriver. That's the location where he carves in the hunting scene (with the same screwdriver it seems).

If you can remove that without damaging it (and hunting with the gun will damage it anyways), it will fetch in the $50-75 range.

I picked up one recently that had the same thing PLUS being gunsmithed for a scope, so the scope mounts were added and the bolt was bent and dished for the scope clearance. One odd note though, it still had the old style Carl Gustave flip-up long range sight. Check it out.

I have a commercial sporter stock for a swede 38 or 96.
I could use a stock with the plate for one of my guns.

I will leave the rifle as-is. There was an old gunsmith around here who used to do this before selling them. Guys were complaining about the threads catching on things when hunting. He was an infamous bubba towards milsurps.

There's a fellow selling a M38 stock set on the EE. The exact same thing was done to the crown on that rifle. Frikken bubbas.
