I was going through some of my stuff and came across an old reloading book

Ideal Handbook Reloading Ammunition Vol #38
by the Lyman Gun Sight Corp 1951

In the section on Benchrest shooting it says so far the 22 caliber high velocity cartridges with jacketed bullets have proven to be the most accurate combinations eg 219 Wasp, 219 Donaldson, 22-250, 220 Swift, .220 Wilson Arrow and the Impoved .219 Zipper

It goes on to also talk about scopes saying that Benchrest shooters have special scopes including 15 x and even a 25x Lyman Syper-Target spot scope

It also breaks down the loads for every caliber for cast bullets and then for Jacketed

I was given the book by my stepfather that he used when he was shooting ,so some of these cartridges I have not even heard of

It's a nice momento have you checked various common loads with newer combinations

I checked loads for the 3006. Th challenge is finding similar bullets as there were a lot of M1 and
M2 bullet loads. However I did find a few with similar bullets and they had similar loads which surprised me.
