This is another "What the Hell is this thread" that gives almost no real information but a picture of an object that everyone is supposed to take a guess at.

You might post some better pictures with a tape measure lying along side it. What is the length? What is the diameter of the tube? Does it unscrew? Does the ring and nut parts move? Does it have a hole in the end of the "barrel"? What diameter is the hole if there is one? Is there a spring giving some tension to any moveable internal parts?

How about a picture of the underside where there seems to be a slot where the ring and nuts are?

So, a Wild Guess ----possible Zip Gun, Flare Launcher or Booby Trap initiator.

What you have there is the long lost Beating stick that belonged to King Louis XIV, which he recieved from King Henry V, absconded by Mousollini years later.:p :onCrack:
In all seriousness though, did you get that at a gunshow? Are there any markings?

Clearly it's the inanimate carbon rod, from the fifth episode of the fifth season "Deep Space Homer" first airing February 24th, 1994.

Based on the ones I've seen lately, my guess is $600 to $800. I remember you could find these for around $60 back in the late 90's.

I got these two pics from a friend who was wondering what the hell is that. The nob moves back and locks, and if you pull on the ring then it snaps forward.. I will try to get some more pics.
