Is the A&D FX-120i balance currently preferred by precision reloaders? Or is there something better at an affordable price? I seem to get along just fine with my RCBS electronic scale. What would a used FX-120i sell for?

The A&D is a lab grade precision scale and reads to 0.02 gn. But if you don't use it...
The cheapest I've seen them go for recently is $850 plus taxes & shipping on amazon.ca

There is a new one out thru Creedmoor Sports in the US, don't know if they'll ship up here though. Called a TRX925, supposed to be .01 reading, 350.00 US. Also questionable pricewise as it'll be in the 475-500 range landed here most likely, may be a variable on duty involved, but, I think that total would be close incl duty.
CE Products is still the cheapest on the A&D, $550 US will be around the 700.00 mark, and you get free shipping in Cda.And if you want to go to the Autotrickler down the road, it is the only choice.

Looks like this is the scale you mentioned.

Don't forget that you get what you pay for. If you have humble expectations, then sure, go for it. If you plan to compete, especially in something like F Class or 1000 yard bulls eye, a scale like this will likely be your weak point.

Id focus on a more accurate 0.1 MG scale something like this... Or better. https://www.amazon.ca/Hanchen-Analytical-Electronic-Pharmacy-Chemical/dp/B01MU940MZ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=analytical+balance&qid=1652130123&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFHRDJMWkc5MTZYSTQmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA3NzMzNDhNRzZMMVUzUUoxNSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMjQyNzQyMUtOR1dEWThRMUdJJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Just make sure it reads in grains.

The accuracy of the scale is relative to the powder charge. The smaller the powder charge, the greater the need for an extremely accurate scale. If you shoot 223 or 6BR, then you will really see a difference with an Analytical (0.1 Mg) Balance. If you shoot a 308 or bigger, you will still see an advantage, but it wont be so obvious.

The biggest advantage of the FX120 is that an auto trickler can be added, but that does not improve your accuracy, like a more accurate scale will.
