I had a Choate scope mount installed on my SKS by a gunsmith and mounted a Barska 4x28 IR Electrosight scope. The mount looks level but I don't have enough elevation, I'm maxed out.

I'm looking for a riser mount that is angled to raise the back end. Where can I get this in Canada?

Thanks.

Since the Choate mount is drilled and tapped to the receiver it should have been raised up at the back to allow for more elevation adjustment. You may be able to have it redrilled and mounted after the fact. Other than that I don't think you can add an "angled riser". Better to go with Burris Z rings with the plastic Signature canted inserts to try and solve your problem. Phil.

The gunsmith followed the instructions to the letter, so I can't fault him for that. The instructions say it has to be level with the barrel, which it is.

It's starting to look like it's the scope mount itself. It's integrated into the scope housing, there are no rings. It's like it's not fitting properly and the rear is slightly lower than the front.

A guy I work with suggested taking the mount off & slotting the bolt holes so I could pivot it up & down.
