We just got word that the RCMP have made another ruling that could affect Canadian gun owners.
The Chiappa AR15 M4 (22lr) is going to be available in both a rifle and a pistol version...
The pistol version and rifle version both use the same 28 round magazine and since the magazine was designed and manufactured to be used and sold with BOTH the handgun and the rifle the RCMP have ruled that this magazine is a dual purpose magazine and therefore ruled it a handgun magazine and legally limited to 10 rounds regardless of the firearm in which it is subsequently used in.
Not sure why this ruling has not yet been "officially" released but expect to see this information sent out to importers and CFO's in the very near future.
Last time we posted this type of info (about the S&W M&P 15-22 magazine issue) I was accused of having ulterior motives and vested interests... neither of which were the case. In this instance we do not have any interest or benefit or involvement with importing or selling the Chiappa firearms. We make this information available only so that firearm owners can be aware of what is happening behind the scenes and what rulings are being made. I seriously considered keeping this information to ourselves and waiting... but I don't want to see people get into trouble or buy products that are already known to be contentious... so I'm making the information public. If people want to call me names or make accusations then so be it.
